Georg Andreas Christian von Holst , called Kuddel (born June 11, 1964 in Münster ), is the guitarist and songwriter of the band Die Toten Hosen .

biography

Von Holst comes from a noble family from the Baltic States and grew up with his older brother in the Düsseldorf district of Derendorf . There he attended the Rethel high school . He began to play the guitar at an early age following the instructions of Peter Bursch's book. At first, however, he used the instrument like a zither on the kitchen table because, as a left-hander, he had considerable difficulty fingering the chords. It wasn't until much later that he found out that there are special instruments for left-handers.

He then first played with a school friend and a German teacher at school parties and in 1980 he joined the band ZK after he had met Campino in Neuss. In 1982 he was a founding member of the band Die Toten Hosen, of which he is still a member today.

Von Holst was less and less interested in school, and he left grammar school in eleventh grade. Von Holst had alcohol problems in the 1980s but got under control and is now abstinent.

On the tours of the band he met his future wife Susi, who was part of the crew and ran a merchandising stand. The two now have two children. Von Holst lives with his family in the Eifel . Son Tim was allowed to perform live with the band at the Toten Hosen's appearance at Rock am Turm 2004 and Rock am Ring 2004 and played the container song on the electric guitar .

In 1984 von Holst appeared in the formation "Inbase". Together with the singer Stefan Telegdy he wrote the title Christine , which Bellaphon Records released as a single and which was featured in the television program Formula One that same year .
