Jörg Layes

Jörg Layes (born October 20, 1966 in Brilon ) is a German author of non-fiction books on various topics, especially in the field of economics .

Life

Jörg Layes attended the rainbow elementary school in Gelsenkirchen-Erle and then the comprehensive school in Berger Feld up to upper secondary school.

He has been a freelance writer since the early 1990s. As a co-author, he published several non-fiction books, most of which were published by Idsteiner Möwe Verlag , and wrote numerous articles in various print media such as magazines and specialist journals . His main topics included u. a. Computers, investments, real estate, management, motivation and sales. In addition, Layes works as a ghostwriter and also takes on editing tasks . He also wrote some novels , some of which he published under the pseudonym Charles McDean in a book-on-demand publishing house.

Layes is an avowed member of the new Scientology religious movement . The Möwe Verlag, favored by Layes at the time, was repeatedly brought into connection with Scientology, and the Düsseldorf real estate agent and entrepreneur Klaus Kempe, with whom Layes wrote two non-fiction books on Kempe's sales and business strategies at the time and who later appeared in public several times, is an avowed Scientologist .

Since 2017 he has published books in the Schalketown series, which are about the fictional private detective James Kowalski. Schalketown is a term coined by Layes for Gelsenkirchen.

Jörg Layes lives and works in Düsseldorf .
