Liane von Billerbeck (born 1957 ) is a German journalist , author , radio and television presenter .

Von Billerbeck studied journalism in Leipzig. She began her professional career at the GDR weekly newspaper Neue Berliner Illustrierte .

In 1989 she worked briefly for the GDR youth program DT64 . After the fall of the Wall she moderated at Rockradio B and Radio Brandenburg . She wrote for print media like taz , Stern , Geo and Spiegel and was a reporter for the Berliner Zeitung . When ORB television , she hosted a policy magazine program. She then worked as a policy editor for Die Zeit , and later as an author.

She is one of the moderators of the Deutschlandradio broadcast Studio 9 - Culture and Politics in the Morning and is a columnist and presenter at WDR5 .

Since 2014, von Billerbeck has moderated the annual Weimar Speeches series of events in March at the German National Theater in Weimar .

The non-fiction book The cult group. Scientology on the advance , which she published in 1993 with Frank Nordhausen , became a classic from Ch. Links Verlag .
