There Seering became a regular player with 22 of 30 point games and thus played a major role in the immediate resurgence. In the next season Rostock rose again and became the elevator team before they could establish themselves in the league more permanently in 1980. Until 1980, Seering, meanwhile moved to midfield, was a reliable part of the team. In the GDR league season 1979/80 he was even the second best goalscorer behind Rainer Jarohs with eleven goals. In the following three league years, Seering's career suffered a career break, because in those years he only made ten appearances. As a defender or midfielder, he scored 46 goals in these 161 competitive games.

At the beginning of the football season 1983/84 Seering moved to the third-class Rostock district league as part of a cooperation agreement with BSG Kernkraftwerk Greifswald . After two years, Seering, who was the top scorer in the district league season 1984/85 with 28 goals, rose to the GDR league with the Greifswalders. At the age of 32, Seering became a game-making force and also ensured with his goals that the nuclear power plants could keep the class in the following years. In the seasons 1986/87 and 1987/88 he was the safest shooter of his team with 17 and 20 goals respectively. After the end of the 1987/88 season, Seering ended his career as an active football player. During his active time, he had trained as an engineer-economist and worked in the insurance industry. With the founding of Greifswalder SV 04 , Seering took over the management of the football department there, but retired in 2008 for professional reasons.
