Jörg Spielvogel

Jörg Spielvogel (born September 26, 1961 in Bramsche ) is a German ancient historian and teacher .

From 1982 to 1988 he studied classical philology and history in Trier and Göttingen , where he received his doctorate in 1991 with a thesis on Cicero. From 1992 to 1995 Jörg Spielvogel was a trainee lawyer in Bremen , after which he took on teaching positions at the Universities of Bremen and Hamburg . From 1997 to 2003 he worked as a research assistant and in 2003/2004 as a research assistant in Bremen, where he completed his habilitation in 2000 . He has been a private lecturer there since 2004 . Now he works as a teacher at the Hermann-Böse-Gymnasium in Bremen.

His work focuses on the social history of classical and archaic Greece as well as the constitutional history of the Roman Republic and Imperial Era.
