Jörg Winter (Canon Lawyer)

Jörg Winter (born September 21, 1944 in Großrudestedt ) is a German state church lawyer and Protestant canon lawyer .

Life

He studied law at the Universities of Bochum and Freiburg , where he in 1977 Alexander Hollerbach on the science of the state church law in the Third Reich received his doctorate .

From 1986 to 1990 Winter was director of the legal department of the Diakonisches Werk der EKD in Stuttgart. From 1990 until his retirement in November 2007 he was senior church councilor and head of the legal department of the Evangelical Church in Baden ; his successor was senior church councilor Susanne Jaschinski . Winter was also chairman of the legal committee of the Union of Evangelical Churches .

Winter is honorary professor for state church and canon law at the University of Heidelberg and a lecturer at the University of Freiburg.
