Jørgen Aukland (born August 6, 1975 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier from Tønsberg who specializes in long-distance races. His greatest successes include victories at various ski marathons , including two victories at the Wasalauf in 2008 and 2013. In the Marathon Cup , he won the overall standings in the 2002/2003 season.

Career

Aukland was a member of the Norwegian national team for several years. At the Norwegian Championships in 2001 he reached third place in the relay together with his brother Anders Aukland and Espen Bjervig . He also took third place in the Norwegian championships over 50 km in free technique in 2002.

In the Marcialonga , an Italian ski marathon over 70 km, he was able to win in several years (2003, 2006, 2012 and 2013). He achieved a placement in a World Cup race when the Marcialonga entered the World Cup in 2004.

In 2008 he was able to win the Vasa race in Sweden over 90 km in classic technique. His brother Anders was second in the same race, three and a half minutes behind. In the same year the brothers had already achieved a double victory at the Marcialonga. Anders crossed the finish line with a clear lead over Jørgen. In 2013 Jørgen won the Wasalauf again, his brother came third.
