Jörgen Sundqvist (born September 24, 1982 in Härnösand ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Brynäs IF in the Elitserien .

Career

Jörgen Sunqvist began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth field of Leksands IF , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 1999/2000 season , where he remained pointless in two games and received two penalty minutes. After relegation in the following season, the defender succeeded with his team in the 2001/02 season, the immediate promotion to the top Swedish division. After he started the 2002/03 season at Leksands, he moved to IFK Arboga in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan during the year .

In the summer of 2003 Sundqvist was signed by the second division Skellefteå AIK , for whom he was on the ice for two years before he signed for the 2005/06 season with Brynäs IF from the Elitserien, for which he has played regularly since then.

International

For Sweden , Sundqvist took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2002 .
