Jörn Gruber

Jörn Gruber (* 20th September 1940 in Lübeck ) is a German linguist and Emeritus Professor of Romance Philology at the University of Trier . His main research interests are: Trobador and Dante philology, narratology, intertextology (text etymology), classical yoga texts and mantras (Sanskrit).

Life

In 1961 Jörn Gruber passed his Abitur at the Johann-Heinrich-Voss-Gymnasium in Eutin . He studied Gallic Romance , Italian , Hispanic , Lusitan and German in Kiel, Hamburg, Lisbon (Lusitan), Rome ( Latin ) and Trier. In 1976 he received his doctorate from the University of Tier with the font Laura and the Trobar car - studies of the stylistic function of the enjambement in Provencal and Italian poetry from the beginning to Francesco Petrarca . In 1981 he completed his habilitation at the University of Tier with the text Die Dialektik des Trobar. Investigations into the structure and development of the Occitan and French minstrel of the 12th century . Gruber is married to the Egyptologist / classical philologist and violinist Sonja Gruberova.
