Jörn Lüdemann

Jörn Lüdemann is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Rostock .

Life

After graduating from high school and doing basic military service, Lüdemann studied law at the University of Osnabrück and the University of Leiden / Netherlands as a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk . He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Koblenz with elective positions in the judicial office of the WDR and at Volkswagen Financial Services AG and received his doctorate from the University of Osnabrück with a constitutional thesis on "Educational State Action". Lüdemann researched and taught as a Senior Research Fellow and employee of Christoph Engel at the interdisciplinary Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn and as a lecturer in public commercial law, telecommunications and media law and constitutional law at the Universities of Mannheim , Osnabrück, Bonn and Trier . In 2010 he represented the chair of the President of the Federal Constitutional Court Andreas Vosskuhle at the Institute for Political Science and Legal Philosophy at the University of Freiburg and was repeatedly deputy chair at the University of Bochum and the University of Bonn from 2012 to 2015 . After completing his habilitation in 2016 with a thesis on “The Order of Administrative Law” at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (with the Venia legendi for public law, business law, media and communication law as well as legal theory), he received offers from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal (Schumpeter School of Business and Economics) and the University of Rostock . From 2016 to 2017 he worked as a professor at the Economics Faculty of the University of Wuppertal and has been W3 professor and holder of the chair for public law, business and media law, legal theory and legal economics at the Law Faculty of the University of Rostock since 2017 . Since 2018 he has also been Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and a member of the Council of Rostock University.

In 2018 he was awarded the 2017 University Teaching Prize from the University of Wuppertal for outstanding teaching.

Lüdemann's work focuses on constitutional and administrative law, business and media law, as well as legal theory and legal economics.
