Andreas Funke

Andreas Funke (* 1972 ) is a German lawyer .

Life

After studying law (1995–2000) in Bonn and Cologne , he received a graduate grant from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation from 2001 to 2003 and was a research assistant at the Institute for International Law and Foreign Public Law at the University of Cologne with Bernhard Kempen . After his legal clerkship (2003–2005) at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne and his doctorate in 2004 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , he worked from 2005 to 2012 as a research assistant at the Institute for International Law and Comparative Public Law in Cologne. From 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Young College of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts, from 2009 to 2010 speaker. After completing his habilitation in 2010 ( license to teach public law, international law, European law and legal philosophy) with Bernhard Kempen, he represented chairs in Bochum , Freiburg im Breisgau , Heidelberg and Konstanz from 2010 to 2012 . Since 2012 he has held the chair for public law and legal philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

His research areas are foundations of constitutional and administrative law, legal philosophy and migration law.
