Júlia Majláth

Júlia Majláth (born January 20, 1921 in Budapest ; † October 11, 1976 there ) was a Hungarian composer. Their preferred genre was dance and light music. She also worked as a singing teacher.

Life

Majláth originally wanted to become a pianist, but had to give up this plan in 1940 due to paraplegia. She then studied composition with Rezső Kókai and Rezső Sugár in the 1940s . In 1948 she won a prize in a competition on Hungarian radio for the first time. She wrote compositions for young Hungarian singers such as Pál Szécsi, Mária Toldy and Sarolta Zalatnay . Her best-known compositions include the piece Valaki kell nekem is , which was interpreted by Zsuzsa Cserháti, Edit Domján , Ilona Hollós, Gabriella Kerényi, Andrea Szulák and the Váradi Roma Café group.
