Jewish cemeteries in Pirmasens
The Jewish cemeteries in Pirmasens are three still existing Jewish cemeteries in the independent city of Pirmasens in Rhineland-Palatinate . All three cemeteries are cultural monuments .
Old Jewish cemetery on Zeppelinstrasse
The city's oldest existing Jewish cemetery was established in 1813 and closed in 1876. The 1360 m² cemetery is located on Zeppelinstraße / Am Gefällerweg.
95 tombstones are still preserved in the cemetery . After this cemetery was occupied, a new Jewish cemetery was laid out in 1876 as part of the city's old cemetery on Ottostraße.
Cemetery in Ottostrasse
The cemetery in Ottostraße is part of the city's old cemetery. It was occupied from 1878 to 1927 and then again in 1933. The Jewish cemetery was largely destroyed during the Nazi era . 17 tombstones are still preserved.
Forest cemetery
The Jewish cemetery is part of the municipal forest cemetery. It is on the B 10 , on the road to Landau in the Palatinate . There are 64 tombstones in the cemetery, which was occupied from 1927 to 1944 and has been used again to this day.
