The Jewish cemetery in the Moravian capital Brno ( Brno in Czech) was laid out in 1852 and later expanded several times. The Jewish cemetery at 27 Nezamyslova Street in the Židenice district has been a protected cultural monument since 1988 .

history

The approximately three hectare Jewish cemetery is the largest in South Moravia with around 9,000 tombs . Some of the much older tombstones come from the disbanded Jewish cemeteries in the region.

In 1950 a memorial for the Holocaust victims was erected.
