The Jewish cemetery Medebach , in the small town of Medebach in the Hochsauerlandkreis , is located on Glindfelder Weg (Schönemarkt) and is 1,933 m² in size. There are still 26 tombstones on it , the oldest of which is dedicated to a person who died in 1808.

history

The cemetery was laid out in the early 19th century. The Winterberg Jews buried their dead here until 1832 . The last funeral took place in 1939. In 1941 a number of tombstones were misused to build a beehive. Sheep and cows have grazed on the property before. After 1959 the cemetery was repaired by the Jewish civil community.
