The Jewish cemetery in Obermarsberg , a district of Marsberg in the north-eastern part of the Sauerland ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), was occupied between the 17th and 19th centuries.

As early as the first half of the 17th century, Jewish residents were mentioned in Marsberg. Older documents may have been lost as a result of the Thirty Years' War . The two neighboring communities of Ober- and Niedermarsberg had the highest number of Jewish residents in the entire Duchy of Westphalia in 1700 . 15 families lived there together. By 1800 their number had risen to 21.

In addition to a synagogue, the Jewish community had its own cemetery since the 17th century at the latest. This was also used by the Jews of Niedermarsberg in the early modern period. Even after the establishment of the synagogue community in Niedermarsberg, there was a branch community in Obermarsberg, initially with a synagogue and cemetery.

The cemetery is outside the city in front of the south gate below the water tower. Most of the preserved tombstones ( mazewot ) date from the 19th century.
