The Jewish cemetery in Písek (German Pisek ), a Czech town in the Okres Písek of the South Bohemian region , was laid out in the late 1870s.

history

The Jewish cemetery was destroyed in 1969/70 and prefabricated buildings were built on part of the site . About 25 years later, part of the area was restored as a burial place. Only a few tombstones ( mazewot ) are left in the cemetery .

The Jewish cemetery northwest of the city has been a protected cultural monument since 1988 .
