Herschberg Jewish cemetery
The Herschberg Jewish Cemetery in the Herschberg community in the Südwestpfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate is a protected cultural monument .
The Jewish cemetery is located 500 m southwest of the village in the immediate vicinity of the community cemetery on Friedhofstrasse. It was expanded in 1858 and 1870.
217 tombstones have been preserved in the 3000 m² cemetery, which was already registered on the Naudins' map in 1736/37 as "cimetiere des juifs" and was documented until 1929 , of which 139 stones were on the old and 78 stones on the newer part. The burial place was also used by the Jews in Landstuhl (until 1896), Höheinöd , Saalstadt , Thaleischweiler , Oberhausen and Wallhalben .
