Jürg Im Obersteg (born October 16, 1914 in Basel ; † June 2, 1983 there ) was a Swiss forensic doctor . His grandfather was Karl Johann in Obersteg . Like his father Karl Im Obersteg, he was an important art collector.

He studied medicine and became a specialist in forensic medicine doctorate . From 1960 to 1969 he was a professor and headed the forensic medicine institute at the University of Basel . In Obersteg was Salomon Schönberg's successor at the Institute for Forensic Medicine of the Canton of Basel-Stadt , and remained in office until 1969, when Max Lüdin was his successor .
