Jürgen Berlakovich

Jürgen Berlakovich (born December 9, 1970 ) is an Austrian author and musician. Publications and appearances also under Juergen Berlakovich, JS Berlakovich, JSB and Takamovsky.

Life

Jürgen Berlakovich studied German Philology and Philosophy at the University of Vienna . He runs the solo music project Takamovsky , is co-initiator of the literature and music performance project Sergej Mohntau and an ensemble member of the Vegetable Orchestra .

Berlakovich works at the interface between literature, sound and music. He uses DNA sonifications and electronically transformed linguistic microparticles for his compositions and improvisations. Since 2003 he has written and produced radio plays. Since 2012 he has released two CDs and one DVD with Takamovsky. Stylistically, his compositions move between  ambient  and experimental electronics.

In 2014 his first book Instrumentum Vocale - A Park of Figures from Text and Sound was published by Klever Verlag in Vienna . His first novel Tobman was published in 2018 . Berlakovich lives in Vienna.
