Jürgen Brauer (lawyer)

Jürgen Brauer (* 1957 in Daun ) is a German lawyer and attorney general in Koblenz .

Career

Brauer studied in Trier Law , where he worked as a lawyer. He joined the judiciary in 1986 and became a judge in Koblenz, Mayen and Trier. In 1989 Jürgen Brauer moved to the public prosecutor's office, and his other professional positions included senior public prosecutor and senior public prosecutor in Trier . He also worked for the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Justice. In March 2014 Brauer was appointed Attorney General in Koblenz. The State Central Office for Cybercrime, founded in 2014 under Jürgen Brauer, and the State Central Office for Combating Terrorism and Extremism, founded in 2018, are also part of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

As the responsible attorney general, he rejected Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's complaint against the termination of the criminal investigation against Jan Böhmermann in the state affair that became known as the Böhmermann affair .
