Jürgen Brauerhoch (complete: Jürgen Oskar Brauerhoch, born January 23, 1932 in Gera ) is a German copywriter and book author .

Life

Jürgen Brauerhoch was arrested after the Second World War in 1948 at the age of 16 in the former Soviet occupation zone for so-called “subversive activities”. Because the communists wanted him to work as a spy, he fled to the west shortly afterwards across the former zone border. After an apprenticeship as a reprograph at the Braunschweiger Zeitung, Brauerhoch first worked as an advertising assistant at Polygraph Verlag in Frankfurt, before finally switching to the creative industry. He graduated from the Hamburg Advertising Academy (today the Hamburg Academy for Marketing and Communication). This was followed by positions as an editor at RETINA REVUE ( Kodak ) in Stuttgart, as advertising manager at the Erwin Behr furniture factory in Wendlingen and finally as a concept writer at the Dorland advertising agency in Munich.

In 1969 Jürgen Brauerhoch founded Job Media GmbH together with graphic designer Hagen Nerdinger, which subsequently mainly worked for companies in the leisure industry. Leisure brands such as Alpamare (Bad Tölz), Caprima (Dingolfing), Heloponte (Bad Wildungen) or Wunnebad (Winnenden) owe their name and corporate design to Brauerhoch .

In addition to his work as an advertiser, Jürgen Brauerhoch wrote numerous travel reports for media such as Die Zeit , FAZ and NZZ . He also published several, partly satirical, non-fiction books, including Das FöhnSyndrom (Meyster Verlag). In 2005 he also published an autobiography with episodes from seven decades (subtitles) entitled Der Hitler, die Russen und I.
