Jürgen Freyschmidt

Jürgen Freyschmidt (born August 3, 1940 in Bremen ) is a German radiologist with a special interest in skeletal diseases and bone tumors .

biography

Freyschmidt his doctorate in 1967 , Dr. med. at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1973 he completed his habilitation at the Hannover Medical School . She made him an adjunct professor . He became chief physician of the radiological department at the Bremen-Mitte Clinic . After retiring, he set up a counseling center for osteoradiology there. She advises clinicians, pathologists and patients.

In 1988 the first edition of the textbook on bone tumors was published, which he had written with the Hanoverian pathologist Helmut Ostertag . Even then, the book was seen as the European counterpart to the American standard works (Dahlin, Schajowicz ).
