Jürgen Fritsch

Jürgen Fritsch (born December 20, 1945 ) is a former German football player. Between 1967 and 1972 he played for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Jürgen Fritsch played his first league game on March 2, 1968. In the encounter on the 15th match day between FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and 1. FC Lok Leipzig, he was used as a striker and scored the winning goal for the Leipzig 1-0 away win. He was then called up in another six league games and increased his goal account to three hits. He was also used in two cup games this season. For the season 1968/69 Fritsch was registered for the top division squad, but did not get beyond the role of a substitute player. In his 18 league appearances, he was only eight times in the starting line-up, and he was without a goal. In the two trade fair cup games of 1. FC Lok against Hibernian Edinburgh (1: 3, 0: 1) he only played the second half in the first leg, but was able to play over 90 minutes in the second leg. As in the previous season, he played two games in the cup. The 1. FC Lok had to relegate to the GDR league after the season . In the following seasons Jürgen Fritsch played no role in the 1st team of 1. FC Lok. In the immediate resurgence in 1969/70 he was only involved with two league games, he was also used again in two cup games. For the league season 1970/71 he was not in the team squad and only came on the penultimate game day for a short assignment. In the 1971/72 season he played his last two league games with two missions and was used in the third-class district league team 1. FC Lok II. With her he became district champion and achieved promotion to the GDR league. There he was called up in 1972/73 in eleven and 1973/74 in 16 of each 22 league games. In his last season in the GDR-wide soccer game he scored his fourth goal there. After he retired from the higher-class football, where he completed 28 league games with three goals and 29 DDR-Liga games (one goal), he was for two seasons at the Sports Association (BSG) Turbine Leipzig in the fourth-rate Bezirksklasse Leipzig active .
