Jürgen Kruse (lawyer)

Jürgen Kruse (born April 16, 1959 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German lawyer and university professor.

Live and act

Kruse completed his Abitur in 1977 at the Hugo-Junkers-Gymnasium in Rheydt and then did basic military service. From 1978 he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . After the First State Examination in 1984, he was a research assistant at the chair of Bernd Baron von Maydell , who also supervised the dissertation , until 1990 . As part of his legal traineeship, Kruse worked in the standards department of the International Labor Organization (ILO) at its headquarters in Geneva. He passed his second state examination in law in 1990 and was awarded a doctorate in the same year at the University of Bonn. jur. is doing his doctorate with a dissertation on a topic at the interface of employee participation and additional old-age provision.

From 1990 to 1997 he worked as a research assistant at the Munich Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law and then as a temporary civil servant at the Catholic University of Eichstätt , mainly in the field of civil and labor law. In 1998 he accepted a professorship at the Evangelical University of Nuremberg , where he teaches social law, labor law and civil law and conducts research in the field of social law.

Since 1999, Kruse has been working as a lawyer and specialist lawyer for social law. He is the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's liaison professor for universities in Nuremberg.

The focus of his academic work is on topics relating to the system of statutory health insurance , basic security for job seekers and social assistance law. Kruse is the author of numerous publications.
