Jürgen W. Heike (born March 9, 1949 in Neustadt bei Coburg ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

After graduating from the Arnold-Gymnasium in Neustadt bei Coburg, Heike studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and had a law firm in Neustadt bei Coburg from 1976 to 2003.

politics

Heike started his political career as the local and district chairman of the Junge Union , of which he had been a member of the state and national board since 1972. In 1992 Heike took over the district chairmanship of the CSU Coburg-Land and moved into the Bavarian state parliament in 1994 , to which he was a member until 2018. There Heike was, among other things, a member of the Presidium, the Committee for Local Issues and Internal Security, the Parliamentary Control Committee, and the Schreiber Investigation Committee .

After the state elections in 2003, Heike was appointed State Secretary in the State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs, Family and Women in the Bavarian State Government. He then belonged to the cabinet of the Bavarian Prime Minister Günther Beckstein (October 16, 2007 to October 27, 2008) as State Secretary in the State Ministry of the Interior . He represented the Coburg constituency in the state parliament.

In March 2008, Heike ran for the second time as district administrator in Coburg, Upper Franconia, but lost to his SPD rival Michael C. Busch in the runoff election . For the first time he was unsuccessfully sent into the race by the CSU Coburg-Land in 1984 against the then incumbent District Administrator Helmut Knauer (SPD).

Heike has not been represented in the cabinet since the 2008 state election. Most recently (2013–2018 electoral period) he was a member of the State Parliament's Committee on Constitution, Law, Parliamentary Issues and Consumer Protection , the Judges' Election Commission and Chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee .

Heike is still politically active in the city ​​council of his hometown Neustadt bei Coburg and in the district council of the Coburg district .

Jürgen W. Heike is married and has three grown children.
