J. Georg Brandt

J. Georg Brandt (born February 14, 1965 in Ratingen ) is a German artist.

Life

Brandt studied architecture and fine arts at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK) with a diploma (diploma thesis: Transmersions in Public Affairs), mainly with Michael Lingner . Before that he studied fine art at the Free Art School Hamburg (FIU). From 2001 to 2010 he was a lecturer there, specializing in public affairs - participation - media. Since 2013 he has been a research assistant at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in the field of culture - aesthetics - media at the Department of Social Work.

The focus of his work is art-theoretical analyzes including the necessary media in public affairs, installations and interventionist projects. He works mainly contextually. Main fields of work are art in public affairs , whereby the focus is not on a style or a medium of realization, but on the content level, media and forms are chosen for the topic to be worked on.
