Kramer Holding GmbH & Co. KG. history

The company was founded in 1901 by Johann Heinrich Kramer as a coppersmith. At that time, refrigeration technology found its way into the fish steamer fleet, which had been at home in Bremerhaven for a long time, due to the steam energy and copper was the material of choice. In 1929 J. Heinrich Kramer , who trained as a coppersmith and became a master coppersmith, took over the company. In the 1930s, the company developed into a medium-sized company. After the Second World War, the company diversified into the areas of electrical engineering and steel construction. In 1982 Ingo Kramer joined the group of companies as managing director and continued as managing partner from 1986 to 2018 and became president of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) in 2013 . The plant assembly group with a long family tradition is currently being managed by Julius Kramer and Georg Kurfgen in the fourth generation.

In the period 2007–2009 the JHK Group built the polar research station Neumayer Station III of the Alfred Wegener Institute together with the company Kaefer Eiche . The working group was able to benefit from the experience of the JHK Group in the construction of the previous Neumayer Station II .
