J. Heinrich Kramer

J. Heinrich Kramer (born March 20, 1907 in Geestemünde ; † September 4, 1986 in Bremerhaven ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ). He was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Family, education and work

Kramer was the son of Johann Heinrich Kramer. He completed an apprenticeship as a coppersmith and became a master coppersmith. In 1929 his father took him over to the coppersmith's shop in Bremerhaven, which he founded in 1901. The company was expanded to a medium-sized enterprise in the 1930s and produced a. a. Equipment parts for ship propulsion and ship operating technology. After the war he expanded the business. He was also active in building housing for the employees.

Kramer was married to Marianne Kramer (1926-2014). His son Ingo Kramer ran J. Heinr. Kramer Group (JHK Group) since 1982 as managing director and from 1986 to 2018 as managing partner and in 2013 became President of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA). His grandson Julius Kramer has been a managing partner in the JHK Group since 2016.

politics

Kramer had been a member of the NSDAP and the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV) since 1937 . In 1948 he was denazified as a fellow traveler .
After the war he became a member of the FDP and from 1954 to 1972 he was elected chairman of the FDP district association Bremerhaven.

From 1959 to 1975 he was a member of the Bremerhaven city council and since 1963 chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. Before that, after 1959 he was active as a voluntary city councilor.

From 1955 to 1963 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship for around eight years and was active in various deputations of the citizenship.

  • Kramer was a member of the Geestemünder Turnverein (GTV) and in 1955 he and other club members founded the Bremerhaven branch of the German Olympic Society.
  • From 1955 to 1986 he was chairman of the branch of the German Olympic Society in Bremerhaven.
  • From 1969 to 1984 he was chairman of the Bremerhaven Employers' Association.
  • From 1976 to 1981 he was chairman of the Association of Employers' Associations in the State of Bremen .
  • From 1971 to 1981 he was Vice President of the Bremerhaven Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
