JS Fletcher

JS Fletcher , actually Joseph Smith Fletcher (born February 7, 1863 in Halifax , West Yorkshire , † January 30, 1935 ) was an English journalist and writer.

Life

Fletcher was a pastor's son. Fletcher died when Fletcher was not yet a year old. He spent his childhood and youth on his grandparents' farm in Darrington near Pontefract, West Yorkshire. He completed his school years at the Silcoates School in Wakefield and then studied law .

After graduating, he got a job with the Yorkshire Post . As a journalist, he was interested in the everyday life of the “little people” in his homeland. During this time he married the Irish writer Rosamond Langbridge (1880–1964) and had a son with her.

Fletcher was a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society .

Fletscher is considered a prolific writer . In addition to his purely journalistic work, he has written more than 200 books on a wide variety of topics. He made his successful debut as a writer with an anthology of poems in which he dealt with his homeland.

In addition to historical and economic considerations of his near and far homeland, Fletcher also published over 100 detective novels . In 1914 he made his debut with one of these; his most successful were a series of adventures by the private detective "Ronald Camberwell".
