Annette Bopp

Annette Bopp (born March 1, 1952 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist specializing in medicine and culture .

Life

Annette Bopp studied biology in Hamburg , graduating in 1979 with a diploma in fishery biology (minor subjects zoology and microbiology ). Until the beginning of 1983 she worked in various functions for the temporary employment agency ADIA Interim (today: Adecco) in Hamburg, most recently as assistant to the directorate for Northern Europe and as the head of sales promotion .

From March 1983 to March 1988 she worked as responsible editor for the department medicine in the magazine " the new " in Heinrich Bauer Verlag , Hamburg. Since 1988 she has been working as a freelance journalist for medicine and culture, among others for Geo , Brigitte , Brigitte Woman , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Die Zeit , Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung , taz , Bild der Frau , a tempo , info 3. She is the author of over 30 non-fiction books a. a. for the Stiftung Warentest ( handbook for drugs , drugs for cancer, menopause, diabetes, etc.) as well as for the Kösel Verlag Munich, Verlag Antje Kunstmann Munich, Kiepenheuer & Witsch Cologne, Rowohlt Verlag Reinbek, Thieme Verlag Stuttgart, Rüffer & Rub Zurich, Gräfe and Unzer Munich. Since May 2004 she has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine medicin individual .

For her work, she was awarded the 2nd Journalist Prize from the German Stroke Foundation (1995), the Golden Pen of the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (2000) and the special award from the ARGUS Foundation (2009).

Annette Bopp is divorced and lives with her two children in Hamburg.
