Jaak Madison
Jaak Madison (born April 22, 1991 in Paide ) is an Estonian politician and MEP. He belongs to the right-wing populist Estonian Conservative People's Party (Eesti Konservatiivne Rahvaerakond - EKRE) .
Life
Jaak Madison attended elementary school in Albu and high school in Noarootsi . From 2011 he studied marketing at a private business school in Tallinn . From 2015 he enrolled in various subjects at various Tallinn universities.
politics
In May 2013 Madison joined the right-wing populist Estonian Conservative People's Party (EKRE). From 2013 to 2015 he headed the party's Tallinn youth organization, Sinine Äratus (“The Blue Awakening”). In July 2014 he was elected chairman of the nationwide youth organization.
In the 2015 general election , Madison entered the Estonian Parliament ( Riigikogu ). His party received 8.1 percent of the vote. Madison was the youngest MP at the time.
A blog post by Madison in March 2015, two days after his election to parliament, caused an international stir. In it he wrote:

In June 2016, Madison was elected his party's vice-chairman. In the same year he founded an association that is dedicated to the memory of the thought leader of the Estonian right-wing populists of the interwar period , Artur Sirk (1900-1937).
In the 2019 European Parliament election , Madison was elected to the European Parliament . This was the first time that a member of the EKRE moved into the European Parliament. He belongs to the Identity and Democracy group, which brings together right-wing populist, nationalist and right-wing extremist MEPs.
In August 2019, Madison posted an article about an Eritrean man who had pushed a child in front of an incoming train in Frankfurt and commented:

Private
Madison has a son with his partner, the Estonian singer and actress Merit Männiste (* 1996).
