Jaak Vandemeulebroucke
Jaak Vandemeulebroucke (born May 27, 1943 in Avelgem ) is a Belgian politician ( N-VA , formerly Volksunie ).
Life
Vandemeulebroucke grew up in Middelkerke , then lived in Mariakerke and currently in De Haan . Jaak Vandemeulebroucke studied at the Catholic University in Leuven and was then a teacher at a school in Ostend . In 1968 he was a co-founder of the Flemish Teachers Association. He was a member of the Ostend local council for 25 years and was a member of the European Parliament from 1981 to 1998 . There he was also chairman of the Rainbow Group. After the dissolution of his party, the Volksunie, he joined the right wing, the Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliante (N-VA).
