Jabal

Jabal ( Hebrew יָבָל, "Wanderer") is a person in Genesis of the Old Testament and a descendant of Cain ( Gen 4.20  EU ).

Jabal was one of the sons of Lamech and his wife Ada . He had a brother, Jubal , and a half-brother, Tubal-Cain, and a half-sister, Naama . The latter's mother is Lamech's second wife, Zilla .

Jabal is referred to in Genesis as the progenitor of those who live in tents (nomads) and own cattle (shepherds). In Jewish tradition he is considered the patron saint of all nomads .
