Jacek Kowalczyk (born August 12, 1981 in Katowice , Poland ) is a Polish football player .

Club career

Jacek Kowalczyk learned to play football at the small provincial club Unia Głuchołazy . In 1999 he was signed by GKS Katowice . Here he also made his debut in 2001 in the Polish Ekstraklasa . The people in charge at Wisła Krakow noticed him because of his consistently good performance . So that he moved to Kraków in 2004 . Here he was unable to assert himself during his two-year stay and came to only nine appearances in the Ekstraklasa. However, he was twice Polish champion with Wisła Kraków. After a brief stint at Polonia Warszawa , he moved to Odra Wodzisław Śląski in 2006 . Here he was able to fight for a regular place and was part of the defensive chain. So far, he has played 187 games and scored five goals in the Polish Ekstraklasa. Kowalczyk has been playing for the Polish second division club GKS Katowice since mid-2010.

National team

Under national coach Paweł Janas , he completed three international matches for the Polish national football team in 2003 . There were three friendlies against Macedonia (3: 0), Lithuania (3: 1) and the Faroe Islands (6: 0).
