Jacey Harper (born May 20, 1980 in Chaguanas ) is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago .
He celebrated his greatest successes with the 4 x 100 meter relay in his country. At the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton , he won the silver medal together with Marc Burns , Ato Boldon and Darrel Brown . The quartet achieved a new national record with a time of 38.58 s and only had to admit defeat to the relay of South Africa . The originally victorious US relay team was subsequently disqualified for a doping offense by runner Tim Montgomery . In the 100-meter run , Harper was eliminated in the preliminary round.
After he missed the relay finals at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris , he won another silver medal at the 2005 World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . Kevon Pierre , Marc Burns, Jacey Harper and Darrel Brown improved the national record to 38.10 s and were only two hundredths of a second behind the French relay. In the 100-meter run, Harper reached the quarter-finals.
In addition, Harper was four times national champion of Trinidad and Tobago, twice over 100 m (2003, 2006) and in the 200-meter run (1999, 2003).
