Jack Asher

Jack Asher (born March 29, 1916 as Jacob Jack Asher in London , † April 1991 in Hendon , Middlesex , United Kingdom ) was a British cameraman .

Life

Jack Asher began his apprenticeship as a camera assistant at Gainsborough Pictures and worked his way up through various positions in the camera crew to becoming chief cameraman. His greatest success came after he switched to Hammer Film Productions . It was there that highly successful horror film classics were made under the direction of Terence Fisher . Asher ended his career as a cameraman at the age of 50 and then worked as a film salesman and producer.

His younger brother was the film and television director Robert Asher .
