Jack Samuel Bateson (born June 3, 1994 in Leeds ) is an English professional boxer in the super bantamweight division .

Amateur career

Jack Bateson is the son of boxing promoter Mark Bateson and started boxing at the age of nine.

Bateson was English and British youth champion in 2011, won the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games light flyweight on the Isle of Man and was quarter-finalist of the European Youth Championships in 2011 and the World Youth Championships in 2012.

In the adult category, he became the English light flyweight champion in 2012 and the English flyweight champion in 2013, and he also won a bronze medal in the light flyweight division at the 2013 European Championships in Minsk . He was eliminated in the semifinals against Dawid Airapetjan . At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty, he lost in the preliminary round to David Jiménez .

Bateson also boxed for the British Lionhearts in the World Series of Boxing from 2015 to 2017 and won international tournaments, including the Feliks Stamm Tournament 2015 and the Tammer Tournament 2016.

Professional career

Jack Bateson made his professional debut on September 1, 2017.
