Jack Fragomeni

John "Jack" Fragomeni Jr. (* 1951 in Schenectady , † April 4, 2009 in Troy , New York ) was an American jazz guitarist and music teacher.

Jack Born attended Mont Pleasant High School and then studied at the College of St. Rose, where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees; he also had guitar lessons from Attila Zoller . In the Albany area he played with Nick Brignola , Bucky Pizzarelli and toured with Lee Konitz . In 1986 the first recordings were made. He was a member of the Empire Jazz Orchestra (album Symphonies in Riffs ) and taught at the College of St Rose, where he led the Saint Rose Jazz Guitar Ensemble from 1984 , and at the Schenectady County Community College. After a duo album with bassist Steve LaSpina ( Friends in Deed ), he recorded the album I'm Having a Good Time with Michael Formanek and Jeff Hirshfield in 2002 , which was released posthumously in 2011 by Kyran Music. He died in St. Mary's Hospital in Troy in April 2009 at the age of 57. In April 2010 a memorial concert took place, including a. with a Fragomeni Tribute Trio made up of Steve LaSpina, Armen Donelian and Mitch Seidman .
