Jack P. Mickle

Jack P. Mickle (born November 14, 1925 - March 20, 2006 in Ellerslie , Georgia ) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ).

Life

In the fall of 1974, Mickle won the election of Columbus , Georgia mayor against previous Republican incumbent Bob D. Hydrick . Mickle held the office now from 1975 to 1978. In August 1978, however, he was defeated in the Democratic primary by his party colleague Harry C. Jackson and thus did not run for a second four-year term. In the subsequent mayoral election, Jackson was elected Mickle's successor.
