Jack Point Jack was the first interactive feature film on German television .

The 40-minute film was initially available for six months from March 15, 2002 on T-Online and was then broadcast in March 2003 on RTL II .

content

The plot revolved around the musician Jack, who was supposed to audition in a club that evening in order to possibly get a contract. However, due to debt, his instruments were confiscated. During the course of the film, he tried to get the money he needed as quickly as possible, although he was not acting legally. Meanwhile, the audience was asked a decision question three times , on which the further course depended. The vote took place by telephone. The question posed, however, did not allow foreseeing the direction in which events would develop; This was justified by the fact that apparently unimportant decisions can also have major consequences in real life.

The total of ten possible storylines and five possible film endings were completely different. On the first broadcast, Jack ended up in jail. The film was shown a second time immediately afterwards, and Jack actually got the contract. As previously announced, another possible end would e.g. B. Includes Jack's alien abduction .

success

When it was broadcast on television, almost 10 percent of all viewers took part in the telephone vote.
