Jack Starrett

Jack Starrett (born November 2, 1936 in Refugio , Texas , † March 27, 1989 in Sherman Oaks , California ) was an American actor and director.

Career

Jack Starret, born Claude Ennis Starrett Jr. , worked as an oil worker before moving to Hollywood. He made his first appearance there as an actor in the film Like Father Like Son (1961). He had other appearances such as in the classic western parody Blazing Saddles from 1974. He became known in 1982 for his role as a brutal deputy in the action film Rambo (1982). Starrett also had guest roles in well-known US series such as Hunter , Das A-Team and Knight Rider . He worked as an actor until the end of his life.

Later during his career he also worked as a film director. His first work was Run, Angel, Run (1969). He worked as a film director until 1982 and ended his career in this area with the film Escape on Hot Tires (1982), where he also worked as a director on television.

Starrett died of kidney failure at the age of 52 . He was married to Valerie Starrett, whose marriage resulted in a daughter, Jennifer Starrett, who also works as an actress.
