Jacky Haran

Jacky Haran (born May 12, 1943 ) is a former French racing car driver .

Career

Jacky Haran began his career in single-seater Trek. He contested his first races in Formula Renault , namely in the Challenge Européen de Formule Renault, which has been held since 1973 . The Frenchman drove in this racing series for four years and then switched to touring and sports car racing . In 1978 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans . Together with Jean Rondeau and Bernard Darniche, Haran drove a works Rondeau M378 to ninth place in the overall standings. In 1981 he achieved his best overall ranking when he started again for Jean Rondeau's team and, as a partner of Jean-Louis Schlesser and Philippe Streiff on a Rondeau M379, finished second overall. He had his last appearance at the Sarthe a year later. The Rondeau used by himself, however, failed after driving 149 laps with engine failure.
