Jacob Butler (born March 29, 1982 in Mount Gambier ) is an Australian pop musician and singer-songwriter . He became known through his participation in Australian Idol and X Factor . His debut album Reason was released in Europe in 2012.

Career

Butler gained national fame in Australia in 2005 for appearing on the first season of the talent show X Factor. He made it to the top 5. There he left the show voluntarily and with a raised middle finger, which sparked a controversy about the family friendliness of such programs in the national media.

In 2007 he made a new attempt at the casting show Australian Idol , the Australian version of Germany is looking for the superstar . He got into the live shows and finished the competition in 8th place.

In 2009 he released his debut single Coma on Lions Share Recordings. The single was played on over 100 radio stations and ranked 9th in the AIR Australian charts. She also made it into the finals of the Musicoz Awards and the International Independent Songwriters Contest. The video for Coma stars Pippa Black and Sweeney Young from the famous and successful series Neighbors on Australian broadcaster Channel 10, directed by Matt Hart . The song was also used in the promotional trailer for the series finale.

The following year he recorded his album Reason . It was produced by Richard Stolz in the famous Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne .

In 2012 he made the leap abroad and secured several record deals. Among other things, he is under contract with the German label Very Us Records of Edel SE (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), V2 Records (Benelux), Universal Music (Poland and Bulgaria), Billberg Entertainment (Scandinavia) and EMI (Greece and Cyprus).

His first single, Come My Way , was played on all major radio stations in Germany and made it to 47th place on the mainstream airplay charts. She also ran in a feature for the WB Movie World Theme Parks.

In 2012, Butler won the renowned Unsigned Only Music Competition in the AAA category with his single Mind Walz .

Since May 9, 2013 he has been under contract with Red Rebel Music in Australia .

Butler was born in Mount Gambier . Then he moved with his parents to Port Lincoln and from there to Adelaide . On March 24, 2013, Jacob Butler married his long-time fiancée Paula Lucarelli in Melbourne , where they now live.
