Jacob Krebs

Jacob Krebs (born March 13, 1782 in Orwigsburg , Schuylkill County , Pennsylvania , † September 26, 1847 there ) was an American politician . In 1826 and 1827 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jacob Krebs attended the public schools in his home country and then worked in agriculture. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Republican Party . In the 1820s he joined the movement around the future President Andrew Jackson .

After the death of MP Henry Wilson , Krebs was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on December 4, 1826. By March 3, 1827, he was able to end the current legislative period in Congress . After serving in the US House of Representatives, Krebs returned to farming. He died on September 26, 1847 in his birthplace Orwigsburg.
