Jacob Poetz

Jacob Pötz (born February 17, 1888 in Dietkirchen , † March 10, 1948 ) was a German publisher and politician of the Center Party .

Before 1933, Pötz was the owner of a printing press and publisher of Catholic newspapers in the Rhineland . Between 1919 and 1946 he was the main shareholder and managing director of the Vereinigte-Anstalten GmbH based in Oberhausen and a subsidiary in Düsseldorf . Between 1934 and 1936 he was also managing director of the Niederrheinische Volkszeitung in Krefeld . For political reasons, Pötz had to cede his publishing houses to a trust company in Berlin .

In 1946 Pötz was a member of the Provincial Council of North Rhine and the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
