Jacob Schlemmer (* Gochsheim ; † September 7, 1580 in Hof ) was a historian, schoolmaster and rector of the Hof high school .

Jacob Schlemmer was raised Catholic and then turned to the Reformation . He was friends with Philipp Melanchthon at the University of Wittenberg . Stephan Agricola called him to the parish school in Hof. He was her last schoolmaster, because the school was relocated to the monastery grounds and thus to the current location of the grammar school. Despite the crisis of the Second Margrave War and even during the siege of Hof , the school had almost 400 students thanks to its good reputation. During Schlemmer's time as rector, Johann Streitberger was also active at the school. Schlemmer made a wooden epitaph with images and a traditional inscription for his late first wife Catharina . From this marriage there were four daughters; they and their descendants are known by name. His second wife Anna died in 1567. Jacob Schlemmer was distinguished by his detailed records of the siege of Hof, which have been preserved in several copies. In 1574 he resigned from the school. He was buried near the sacristy of the Church of St. Lorenz . A street in Hof is named after him.
