Jacob Weber
Jacob Weber (born October 25, 1872 in Lebach , † December 11, 1944 in Essen ) was a German politician.
Life
He was the son of a master carpenter and learned the trade from 1893 to 1896 at the ceramics company Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach . From 1896 Weber found employment with the Rheinisch-Westphalian coal syndicate in Essen, where he rose to a leading position. Later he advanced to the position of chairman and manager of the landowners and manufacturers' association in Essen-Eickenscheidt.
Jacob Weber was a center member of the Kray council from 1909 . At the German Katholikentag in Aachen in 1912, he was vice-president of the event. He served from 1923 to 1925 as an alderman for the municipality of Kray. On March 3, 1926 , he was elected mayor there , which office he held until September 30, 1929 . The next day, Kray was incorporated into Essen and Weber took over a position as an alderman for the city of Essen.
The Saarlander was chairman of the Essen Center Party from 1927 to 1933 and had also been a member of the provincial parliament since 1920.
Weber received an honorary grave from the city of Essen in the Kray cemetery. After he was on 15. July 1954 the Jacob Weaver Street named in Essen-Kray.
