Jacopo de 'Pazzi (* 1423 , † April 28, 1478 in Florence ) was a Florentine banker from the Pazzi family , a noble Tuscan family . He was executed as a participant in the Pazzi conspiracy .

Life

He was a co-conspirator in the assassination attempt on April 26, 1478 on the Medici , where he and the other co-conspirators hoped that the Pazzi would return to power in Florence through the death of the Medici and restore their old status in the Florentine government. After the failed assassination attempt on April 26, 1478, Jacopo de 'Pazzi fled to Romagna . However, the following day he was grabbed by farmers and beaten so that he could no longer walk. After the peasants brought him to Florence, Jacopo - like Francesco Salviati and Francesco de 'Pazzi - was hanged on the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio in the Piazza della Signoria .

After a few days his body was removed from the grave and thrown into the Arno.
