Jacqueline Lichtenberg
Jacqueline Lichtenberg (born on 25. March 1942 in New York City ) is an American author of science fiction - and horror stories , best known for the novels in the created by it fictional universe of Sime / Gen.
Life
She studied chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley , where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1964 . She then worked as a chemist in industry for two years, including one year in Israel. She has been a freelance writer since 1968. She is married to Salomon Lichtenberg, with whom she has two daughters.
Her first SF story, Operation High Time , which appeared in If magazine in January 1969 , was set in the world of the Sime and Gen , two symbiotic races into which humanity in a distant future has split. In 1974, House of Zeor , the first novel set in the Sime / Gen universe, was published, which Lichtenberg wrote together with the author Jean Lorrah . In the meantime over a dozen volumes have been published, some by Lorrah, some by Lichtenberg, or in collaboration . Three of the volumes have also been translated into German.
Lichtenberg is a committed member of the science fiction and especially the Star Trek - fandom . In 1975 she released Star Trek Lives with Sondra Marshak and Joan Winston ! , an account of the early years of Star Trek fandom. In 2001 she was awarded the Franson Award and the Kaymar Award by the National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F) , in 2008 with the Neffy Award as Fan of the Year and in 2012 she was awarded the honorary membership of the N3F for life.
